The recent stereophonics gig at fort canning was a "nice" day. I got the tickets the very day before and it was because SAFRA had a member deal! Sweet...
I first heard the Stereophonics during the Discman days, the CD in question? MTV Alternative Nation 2, Song in question? Local Boy In The Photograph... ah the alternative rock brit invasion. I probably got that compliation due to favourite bands then (Oasis , Blur , Radiohead, Suede). But when listening to all the songs on the CD, I grew and found new bands , new songs, new sounds. I miss those days. I discovered legendary (in my opinion) bands and songs that shaped my music listening for life. Besides Stereophonics there were Ash, Live , Smash Mouth, Beck, Texas, Space Monkeys... I loved all of them and listening to them on my discman or PC.... ok I'm side tracking (Took some shots of the album just for memory sake!)
Back to the "Nice" day, I found out fort canning had free parking ! Woo hoo! But there was no parking space near the gate... We found a nice spot on the right flank , but there was a problem catching shots with those over-active people upfront... Oh the best nice thing... they played "local boy in the photograph" as the last song (before encore of course).... but some Asshole threw his slipper at Kelly Jones... ouch... I would be damn pissed if I was performing and someone threw their slipper at me... (See the video below)... But photos first!
